Puts Her Foot Down 2

Under the bright midday sun, the parking lot of the bustling mall buzzes with activity. The air is thick with the scents of food court favorites wafting through the open doors and the rumble of distant conversations. Glenn's mother, now inhabiting her son’s lanky frame, strides with determination down the asphalt, her movements a mix of grace and indignation. Her expression, a blend of frustration and disbelief, is truly a sight to behold.

As she reaches the edge of the lot, her gaze locks onto her son, who is effortlessly gliding along the pavement on a sleek skateboard. Glenn, in her body, is wearing a ribbed gray U-neck top that clings to his frame in a way she wouldn’t have chosen, paired with a skirt that hugs his body. The dangling earrings, catching the sunlight, twinkle against his skin as he rides, while the necklace hugs his collarbone—a stark reminder of the role reversal.

“Glenn! You are not going to ride your skateboard while in my body, young man!” she yells, her voice reverberating off the metal and glass surroundings, drawing glances from curious shoppers and other skaters alike.

He looks up, nonchalantly spinning the board beneath him, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. “If I can do it in my own body, I’ll do it in yours!” he shoots back defiantly.

The clash of their wills ignites an argument that draws a small crowd. Her face flushes with a mix of anger and embarrassment as he continues to skate, effortlessly defying her authority. “You have no idea how to take care of my body! What if you fall?” she retorts, her voice rising in pitch.

“Maybe I wouldn’t fall if you didn’t throw all these rules at me!” he fires back, pushing off harder, picking up speed, before skillfully executing a trick that sends adrenaline rushing through both their veins.

As they circle each other, the frustration between them thickens, filling the air with tension, punctuated by the skateboard's clattering against the pavement. Pedestrians stop to watch the unusual spectacle, their faces a mix of amusement and surprise. What once felt mundane—a young man trying to assert independence—now unfolds like a surreal play, all under the glaring sun of an ordinary day at the mall.

Finally, Glenn gives in, he gives his mother the skateboard and tells her, "If I can't skateboard then I'm going to the gym and work out!"
